HOW THE REPUBLIC CIGAR WAS Established in GRUENE, Texas in 2012

We found a great location in The Gruene Lake Village; however, it was unavailable, so we looked at other places, but found none that offered everything we needed. The cigar business was put on back burner and pretty much forgotten. Or was it?
Soon after, the owner of the location we wanted at Gruene called to say the space was now available. After a business strategy session (involving lots of cigars and adult beverages) plans were placed on paper, a business entity formed, and we were on our way to New Braunfels.
With the assistance of our significant others, The Republic Cigar opened on December 5th, 2012.
Ten years later our location has greatly expanded, and the size of our humidor has tripled.
The “Original Three” are still great friends and we continue to thrive in Gruene, thanks to our great patrons, whom we affectionately refer to as Brothers and Sisters of the Leaf.
